The Magician Feat Jeppe – I Don’t Know What To Do
Ex-half-of Aeroplane, The Magician, teams up with Jeppe, he of Junior Senior fame, to bring us this lovelorn track telling a tale of a painful breakup clearly on the horizon and the fevered, unanswered phone-calls that accompany it. It’s the type of song you’d put on in exactly that situation when you’ve drunk too much and you want to dance around anyway in a failed bid to cheer yourself up. There’s something quite alluring about all this music at the moment that’s highly danceable but drenched in despairing lyrics. With it’s campy house piano intro, this is obviously quite a different beast from, say Art Department who do so love to weave a good bit of desperation into their vocals. But it’s certainly a distant relation with the occasional slight tremble to Jeppe’s vocals like he’s a bit pissed and could actually cry if he let himself. Yep, we’ve definitely all been there. Keep your ears out for this track on dance floors and at house parties as it’ll no doubt be on heavy rotation this September in the lead-up to it’s October 3rd release on Kitsuné.
