SLACKK is one of the new wave of DJ-producers influenced by the Acid House and breakbeat Hardcore sound. Now signed to Numbers, Slackk has found himself labelmates with the likes of Jamie xx, Jackmaster, Deadboy, Hudson Mohawke and Lory D and judging by the reaction to his first release ‘Theme From Slackk’, he’s going to be just as big very soon. We’ve seen first hand what Slackk can do to a dancefloor when he played at our warm-up party in July, so we know any tune he plays is guaranteed to leave you gasping for more, which is great because he’s playing at the next SOCIETY with Number head-honcho Jackmaster. WANARB caught up with SLACKK to ask him a few questions and get his top 5 acid tracks.

Posted in 80's, Acid house, Club Night, Dirt, dj, House, Society, Video, Warehouse Party with tags , , , , , on August 8, 2011 by 4th level zombie

Pure party mash-up! Everything and anything from dubstep & grime to bassline, electro and dark, dirty beats! As well as being an Urban Nerds selector from day one, Rattus Rattus has ventured out into UK clubland to regularly spin at a number of top underground nights including Vagabondz and Bigger than Barry.

Un-phased by any genre, his unique mixing style and one-off brand of mash-up mayhem when it comes to tunes makes Rattus a top favourite among Urban Nerdy punters looking to get their rave on. With party hats suitably doffed we caught up with Rattus to get an interview and his top 5 acid tracks we’re likely to hear at the upcoming Society Warehouse party this Friday the 12th.

WIFEY : 5 Tracks For SOCIETY + Interview

Wifey started in 2008 as one of a handful of club nights introducing bassline to London. Also known as bassline house, the scene is an offshoot of UK garage originally popular in the North and Midlands. They started to bring leading DJs to clubs and warehouse parties in east London, including TRCDJ QPalefaceDexplicit, Illmana,Wittyboy, Pantha, Virgo (Mr V) and Piddy Py.

As UK funky started emerging in and around London, Wifey embraced this exciting new sound, creating a unique style of house music influenced by grime and garage. Wifey began to book artists such as such as Crazy CousinzHardhouse Banton,FunkystepzDJ PetchyR1 Ryders, and Deep Teknologi.

This kind of forward thinking approach to music led us to booking them for the upcoming SOCIETY party on the 12th of August. We took some time to chat to Steve, Robin and Ralph. The trio that make up Wifey and they also gave us there top 5 tracks they would be playing on the night.

Wayne Anthony : 5 Tracks For SOCIETY

Posted in Acid house, Society, Warehouse Party, We are not a rock band with tags , , , , , , , on August 2, 2011 by Knockturnal

Wayne Anthony is one of the founding fathers of Acid House. To say his Genesis parties are legendary is an understatement – from his first party in October 1988 onwards, Genesis developed a prodigious reputation for cracking open huge warehouses and holding illegal raves, week after week, from Aldgate to Hackney, Tottenham to Walthamstow – but there’s a hell of a lot more of a story than that, so check out his book Class of 88 – it’s a brilliant read.

Wayne is coming down to play some tracks at SOCIETY that capture the spirit of Genesis and we thought we’d ask him for a sneak peak of some tracks he may well be packing in his bag.
