Droog play Potty Mouth warehouse party

This Saturday sees LA’s Culprit Records head honchos Droog go up British partner in crime Inxec in a special back to back set at one of our favourite London warehouse parties, Potty Mouth. Completing the bill is Danish deep house master Noir and rising Polish stars Catz N Dogz and We Are Not A Rockband’s very own Hazmat; giving what must surely be the most hotly anticipated international lineup across the capital this weekend.

And if just the mere thought of it all wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, Droog have only gone done a Potty Mouth warm-up mix! With tracks from Subb-an, Gavin Herlihy and Amirali, you’ll be popping on your dancing shoes super-early out of sheer excitement. Tracklisting after the jump.

M.A.N.D.Y vs Bookashade – Home (Tim Green Remix)

Posted in anthem, Deep House, Tech, We are not a rock band with tags , , , , , on December 13, 2011 by HazMat

‘Home’ by M.A.N.D.Y vs. Bookashade has been put through the remix mill and the results are explosive. Tim Green, Jona and Monaque have all added superb interpretations to it – but  my personal fave is the Tim Green mix.

London-based Tim Green has been an ever-present name in Tech / Deep House in recent years, but a string of impressive releases in 2011 has catapulted him to the upper echelons of the scene. Looking forward to what 2012 has in store…

Home Remixes Part 1. is out now. You can buy it here, or you can download his remix (192Kbps) from the SoundCloud player below.

WATCH : Fatboy Slim, Riva Starr & Beardyman Get Naked!

Posted in Video, We are not a rock band with tags , , , , , , on December 13, 2011 by Knockturnal

PhotobucketSo I guess you must be here because you clicked a link inviting you to watch Fatboy Slim, Riva Starr & Beardyman Get Naked? Well I can tell you now that’s not gonna happen. What you will get however is three large burlesque ladies portaying the artists and a fun, bouncy, head nodder of a club track. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending what you’re into) they don’t Get Naked.

In describing his sound, Starr could be describing the video too:

“The Riva Starr sound has many different angles to it. It’s funny, sometimes it’s grotesque and sometimes it’s bouncy & dark; it really reflects my personality.”

Check it out below…

Riva Starr & Fatboy Slim featuring Beardyman – ‘Get Naked’ is available to download from 19th December, 2011.

New film from Mr Oizo – WRONG

Posted in Trailer, We are not a rock band with tags , , , , , , , , on December 5, 2011 by Knockturnal

PhotobucketAfter last years ‘Rubber‘ (a movie about a car tire called Robert, which has a mind of its own and goes on a murderous rampage). The Ed Banger DJ / producer / film maker / all round legend – Quentin Dupieux (aka Mr Oizo) is back with another dose of weirdness. WRONG tells the story of… well to be honest I’m not that sure. If the first trailer is anything to go by it would seem to be about a dog detective, investigating the case of a missing dog?!

With a cast that includes East Bound and Down’s Steve Little and (the always awesome) Wiliam Fichtner, along with music by Mr Oizo himself it sounds pretty RIGHT to me… We can’t wait!
