Those two French gods Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, also known as Daft Punk, have been commissioned to compose the ENTIRE score for Walt Disney’s remake of the 1982 sci-fi classic ‘Tron’.

The ‘Tron 2.0’ recording marks Daft Punk’s first foray into the studio since 2005’s “Human After All” and will be the duo’s first full-length feature film score.  At the moment, Daft Punk are splitting their time between Paris and Los Angeles, where they have assembled a new recording studio for the Tron project. The film, currently in production, is due to be released in 2011.

Interesting fact: The original 1982 science fiction classic featured a soundtrack from Wendy Carlos, a musician and composer who helped to popularise the Moog synthesiser as a musical instrument. See, not just a pretty typeface.
