Clash does love… in a BIG way!

So Claudius Gothicus (Claudius II) rules the land. You want to get married but you can’t, then you meet old priest Valentine. He hooks it up for you. Boom. Some time later a blog is started. This hallowed and famed blog is none other than We Are Not a Rockband, and on this Sunday in February one of the posters for said blog is feeling the love. Like my teenage self, I am making you all a love-songs mixtape (There is a bit of a nod to back then, see if you can spot it)(and by ‘mixtape’ I mean playlist, but we’ve been over this before)(and by ‘you all’ I mean my girlfriend).
CLASH DOES LOVE!
side A:
1. The Ramones – I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend
When you first get into the Ramones you don’t expect there to be a sweet side to them. At least I didn’t. Possibly my favourite guitar based band.
They also recorded the best love song ever [featured at the end].
For a tropical alternative to this check here.

2. The Ronettes – Be My Baby
Ahhhhhhh. That’s better. In retrospect, Dirty Dancing seems like a pretty dodgy story line.
3. Archies – Sugar Sugar
Lookat! Lookat how cute!
4. Millie Small – My Boy Lollipop
I just ‘cute top trumps epic winned’ on myself.
5. Ja Rule – Put It On Me
The man found a way to fit the phrase ‘I’m outta control, Ho’ into a love song that was grinded on by millions. Admit it, you’ve shaken your ass to this.
side B:
6. The Beatles – All You Need Is Love
It’s true y’know.
7. Boston – More Than A Feeling
Yeah. I Went there.
8. The Cars – Just What I Needed
Still there.
9. Roxy Music – Love Is The Drug
Great intro, great song, great everything. Although i thought i saw Bryan Ferry selling suits recently.
10. The White Stripes – Hotel Yorba
‘kiss – keep it simple, stupid!’ – they did. This song is cuter than a sneezing panda.
11. The Ramones – Baby, I Love You
Ramones Ramones RAMONES [cover of The Ronettes ~ produced by Phil Spectre]. This song brings the house down. I love it. I can’t say anything more. Play it. Looking at these tracks, I conclude have much better taste now than when I was a teenager. Obviously.
BIG LOVE!
Big shadowstep!
