Disco Rescue is all in order to Save Suzanne, who was recently diagnosed with advanced cancer, and the party at Vogue Fabrics in Dalston is in order to raise money to help pay for treatment.
They’ve got JBAG who’re PonyStep residents and Kitsune’ favourites and Medicine 8 who’ve released what IDJ, Mixmag, DJ and Muzik magazines called their ‘record of the month’ along with Warboy, Jac the Disco and many more.
It’ll be a night of great music, and also an awesome raffle, with prizes such as Eurostar tickets, Lancombe and YSL goodies, tickets to next years Field Day and Great Escape Festivals and a cake from Curly Sue Cakes to name but a few! So get your asses down to Vogue Fabrics on the 5th November.
The Ponystep residents and Kitsuné favourites have taken time out from remixing artists such as Kylie and S-Express, and soundtracking catwalk shows for the like of Vivienne Westwood to star at our Dalston shebang. Their uplifting blend of electro, disco, pop, rock and rap has long attracted the fashion crowd and the JBAG-compiled BoomBox compilation still sells strong internationally. As well as further residencies across Europe, 2010 has seen the duo release its own productions through the infamous French label.
Having released the album of the month according to IDJ, Mixmag, DJ and Muzik magazines, Medicine 8 went on to remix the like of Tiga, Orbital and Kylie, and DJ in every corner of the globe including a headline slot at Pacha, Buenos Aires. Their Parlophone-released ‘Iron Stylings’ influenced the wave of electronic-sounding house acts which followed and we are muchas excited about hearing their new shit in our basement soiree.
Not content with having promoted and been involved with some of London’s definitive club nights (Caligula, All You Can Eat, Kash Point), Warboy’s disc jockeying has resulted in DJ Mag calling him “one of clubland’s greatest forces who is constantly ahead of the curve.” In addition, he is a producer and we are pleased to welcome him and his eclectic set of Hi-NRG, acid and old school NYC house to our party.
This London duo’s up-and-coming status was cemented with a set at Fabric in January and they’re taking time out of producing their own material to play at the fundraiser of the year, mixing Chicago house with cosmic disco.
With a strict ‘vinyl only’ philosophy, BKC has been playing 1990s house and garage since it was fresh and is enjoying its retro resurgence. We expect to be educated in bass from his history lesson while simultaneously feeling nostalgia from the timeless classics we discover embedded deep in our subconscious.
Currently playing an eclectic set of dubstep and nu disco, Nevs promises to also incorporate a few party classics when gracing the turntables at Vogue Fabrics.
