Four Tet: Fabriclive.59 Launch Night 23/09/11

If there is one club who have always remained consistently cutting edge and unquestionably captivating, throughout a long and highly regarded compilation series then London’s Fabric would take the crown. Fabric have now roped in Fourtet, as the latest to step up to the prestigious plate and mix the 59th instalment of FABRICLIVE.

Four Tet is the electronic outlet for the solo work of musical wizard Keiran Hebden: a top drawer producer and a magnificent maestro of meticulous electronica, Hebden is almost unanimously regarded as one of the most important artists working in the industry today. Based around a framework of 90’s 2-Step and Grime, Hebden has tracked down vinyl rarities, ripped digital versions from records and recorded found sounds from Fabric itself in an attempt to convey his sense of what a night out feels like, rather than merely blending tracks. Taking in Burial’s mournful Street Halo, C++’s hyperactive Angie’s Fucked, compositions Four Tet created especially for the compilation, and crafting them into a surreal musical masterpeice. The entire mix is constructed on computer, more in the way you would create a film score than a DJ mix. Yet every track is vinyl, with Kieran cutting acetates of all his own music for the mix, to ensure that the sound quality and vibe is consistent.

Fabric is celebrating the imminent release with a dazzling line-up on the 23rd of this month, to send electronic pulses resonating throughout Farringdon from Caribou (DJ set), Trevor Jackson, Hessle Audio, Ben UFO and of course Four Tet, amongst numerous talented others. For tickets click here.
