Spencer Parker Remixes

Spencer Parker

Berlin-based Spencer Parker should be all the more familiar to Londoners after his latest visit saw him playing at the Tsuba warehouse party, as a super-secret guest at Back To Back at Dalston Superstore *and* unleashing a mind-blowingly good hotmix upon NTS Radio listeners via Dan Beaumont and Nadia Ksaiba’s show Rhythm Connection.

After priming our ears for his special blend of proto-house and techno, he’s now releasing a little EP of remixes on UK label Rekids. The A-side remix of Improvised Minotaur comes courtesy of Rex resident Molly. It’s an epic tribal journey full of pulsing percussion that makes you want to press play again as soon it’s finished, and that’s not just because we’re suckers for a spot of freestyle jazz mid-track!

The B-side is a more subtle affair but no less good. D’julz, like Molly, has been a fixture of Parisian club Rex for a while now. His remix takes the original banger, and whilst it retains much of its original features, he gives it a deeper sound that transforms it into something you can picture yourself dancing in the sunshine at a terrace party to.

The Improvised Minotaur is released week after next on Monday 26th March on Rekids. If that feels just too long away to wait for more Spencer Parker then sate yourself on his Rhythm Connection hotmix…
