Like the title says Tiga’s back with a new track ‘Trust Your Body’ getting released this week on his label Turbo Recordings! The track was created with help with Finland’s own Jori Hulkkonen, one of the most underrated producers in the world! With just about two decades under his belt the man has become a living legend working with the likes of José González, Jesper Dahlbäck, Chromeo and a shit ton more!

He also has a pretty cool last name.

But wait there’s more…

Flying Lotus - Putty Boy Strut

Check out the amazing new video from Flying Lotus. Directed by renowned British animator Cyriak, it features cute robots gobbling up more cute robots and growing Katamari-style. As radio producer and journalist Ele Beattie so aptly puts it “Maintain viewing until end for satisfaction.”

New album from Flying Lotus, Until The Quiet Comes, is due out on Warp Records 1st/2nd October.

Space Hardware Placeholder

After some sly detective work on We Are Not A Rockband’s part led to us discovering that *amazing* Placeholder track Don’t U Know was scheduled for release on ‘Space Hardware’, a Hypercolour off-shoot label, we just knew we had to find out more about it all. With so little info out there we went straight to the horse’s mouth, label owner Jamie Russell. Currently partly responsible for Hypercolour, Glass Table, Losing Suki, and solely responsible for Sneaker Social Club and Space Hardware, in addition to DJing under the name Cedric Maison, to say Mr Russell is a busy man might be somewhat of an understatement. Luckily we managed to pin him down for one of hell of an epic, in-depth chat about his new venture and his new mysterious artist Placeholder…

David Lynch – Crazy Clown Time

Posted in Electronica, We are not a rock band with tags , , on October 5, 2011 by ezray

Ich liebe das David Lynch, first and foremost.

Alleged rumours of his retirement from the film industry are depressing, but his inventiveness is aimed at the music industry, and it’s rabble-rousing.

Last Autumn his electronic stirrings was marked with Good Day Today. Now…the man can do no wrong in my eyes. The track was easy on the ear, but a bit too happy(?) for my liking.

BUT, the single, Crazy Clown Time isn’t. At all. The latest to be released from Lynch’s debut album, Crazy Clown Time, smells of deceit, cigarettes, oral sex beneath a table, stale booze, red lipstick, blackmail, come-hither dancing and men with long ponytails.

It blatantly reminds me of a scene, and is definitely reminiscent of the song in the Pink Room from his film Fire Walk With Me, also written by Lynch. (As always, it appears he has unfinished business with Twin Peaks).

Absorb it:

The full album is set to be released 7th November from Sunday Best. There’s a contribution of Karen O’s beautiful and daunting voice, but everything else is written, produced and performed by Lynch and guided by engineer Dean Hurley.

I will celebrate the album launch by wearing red lipstick, highlighting the sharper features of my face, making out with another girl in the presence of a midget.
