Luca Lozano is one of Britain’s finer exports to the magical land of 24 hour parties and numerous temples to the house and techno Gods commonly known as Berlin! He’s the head honcho of Klasse Recordings and former member of Zombie Disco Squad. You might remember his first release “Berlinetta” on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird Records. Fast forward to now and Luca’s debut album ‘Life In Black And White’ is gearing up for release later this year, adding to his discography of amazing and unique EP’s and remixes.

Luca kindly took a few moments out of his busy schedule to speak to WANARB  about his recent gig at Oonst, life in Berlin, Klasse Records and some hotly tipped summer tracks!

Like the title says Tiga’s back with a new track ‘Trust Your Body’ getting released this week on his label Turbo Recordings! The track was created with help with Finland’s own Jori Hulkkonen, one of the most underrated producers in the world! With just about two decades under his belt the man has become a living legend working with the likes of José González, Jesper Dahlbäck, Chromeo and a shit ton more!

He also has a pretty cool last name.

But wait there’s more…

Waze & Odyssey are part of a new wave of emerging UK producers who are helping to keep the UK house scene on its toes.  After their first release in early 2012, “Ah Baby (Here We Go Again)”  they’ve released a whole load of remixes, originals, and bootlegs, ranging from raw, urban garage tracks through to epic ’90s-influenced house anthems.  They originally created a fake background story about being US garage veterans raised on a diet of funk & soul in Miami, but then they came clean that they were just having a laugh with that story and are actually a couple of London veterans called Serge Santiago and Firas Waez.  With a distinct Waze & Odyssey sound evolving, a new W & O record label, a love of keeping people guessing, and support from the likes of Pete Tong, Lazaro Casanova, Bicep, and Friendly Fires, Waze & Odyssey are set to be BIG in 2013.  We caught up with them to find out what they’re all about…

German brothers Basti And Ali have, for almost 15 years, been better known to the world by their joint producing and DJing name Tiefschwarz. With a career spanning so many shifts in dance music, their pair have ably adapted and been at the forefront of deep house and techno with a longevity that most current producers can only dream of.

One half of the duo, Ali, comes to London this weekend to play a DJ set on Saturday 23rd June at Select*Elect alongside ReSolute acts Elon, Alexi Delano and Connie. And we’ve managed to snag a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky winner for the night! The first person to email us at with the subject line “I heart Tiefschwarz and Select*Elect please please I need that guestlist!” will win the tickets. Only the successful applicant will be contacted.

Ali, being the kind sir he is, managed to answer a few of our burning questions ahead of the night…

Zombie Disco Squad chats to WANARB

“Zombie” seems to be the word on everyone’s lips this week, whether it’s the global news discussing the shocking events in Florida; or the music press discussing Nat Self aka Zombie Disco Squad’s latest album Brains. Released this Monday past on Made To Play; its coincidental timing certainly catches society obsessing madly over flesh-eaters.

Here at We Are Not A Rockband we like to keep things simple and have combined the two topics for you and taken advantage of the fact he’s playing at this weekend’s SOS Jubilee Sunday Warehouse party and had a chat with Zombie Disco Squad about that… and zombies. And brains. And his new album Brains. See, simple?

KRL chats to WANARB

We’ve been big fans of KRL for a while now, from first hearing his fantastic remix of J Phlip’s Fever, to his unbelievably amazing mixtape for Corsica Studios night Tief (also another WANARB favourite). His remix of Autodeep – Gonna Make you Mine was stuck in our head for months upon end. We’ve finally managed to pin down the elusive and enigmatic man down for a chat and what better time for it, as Tief takes over Room 2 at Fabric for the bank holiday edition of regular Sunday night WetYourSelf
