Like the title says Tiga’s back with a new track ‘Trust Your Body’ getting released this week on his label Turbo Recordings! The track was created with help with Finland’s own Jori Hulkkonen, one of the most underrated producers in the world! With just about two decades under his belt the man has become a living legend working with the likes of José González, Jesper Dahlbäck, Chromeo and a shit ton more!

He also has a pretty cool last name.

But wait there’s more…

It’s always good to hear a fresh take on old school electro in an upcoming release, and Endangered Species is definitely a stomper. It’s one of the tracks off No Regular Play’s upcoming album, of the same name. The rest of the album is leftfield and indulgent, but polished. The title track, Endagered, is the killer though.

Sounds like: Marc Romboy making sweet percussive love to an electronic water buffalo.

Check the track here:

And NRP have even been kind enough to offer a free download of an alternative version; check it here:

Endangered Species, out on Wolf & Lamb Music on Nov 23rd

VIDEO: Fritz Kalkbrenner – Get A Life

Fritz Kalkbrenner - Get A Life

Fritz Kalkbrenner. Another artist who, like label mate Till Von Sein, wonderfully exemplifies that cross-genre sound between hip hop, soul and house that Berlin’s SUOL does so well, whether in his compilation album from earlier in the year, Suol Mates, or on his upcoming sophomore album, Sick Travellin’.

Check out the video for the first track from the new album, Get A Life.

Sick Travellin’ by Fritz Kalkbrenner is due out on SUOL on 19th October 2012. If you can’t wait that long for a bit more Fritz, download his free podcast, ‘Drop Outs’, consisting of off-cuts from Suol Mates including tracks from Marvin Gaye, Cymande, Womack & Womack and Tanya Morgan.

Introducing: Uffe

Uffe Christensen

Due for release on Pets Recordings in a few weeks is beautiful EP from Uffe, Colors Outside. Hailing from Copenhagen, the Danish Uffe Christensen is now based in Amsterdam and is set to hold a dear place in your daytime music heart.

The title track, a light-hearted, bouncy affair, heavy with summery samples, serves to bliss you out ready for the somewhat darker but no less stunning I’ll Leave Soon. Its melancholic vocals and slow build-up ensure its place as the strongest track on the release. Meanwhile the ‘Just Leave’ remix of I’ll Leave Soon comes courtesy of Pets Recordings bosses Catz N Dogz. That’s definitely a grower, so give it a chance as it seems to sit quite apart from the tone of the other tracks. It retains the vocals but darks it out further giving a midnight feeling as opposed to the twilight party sentiment of the original. Finally, closer When The Sun Rose lets you get lost in its chugging bassline, folk tinged vocals and twiddly acid noises.

It’s difficult to pin-point exactly what makes Colors Outside so captivating. Its wealth of influences, mix of genres and experimental samples definitely make it must for getting through these rain-drenched days and pretending it’s actually sunny.

It’s worth checking out the video for I’ll Leave Soon, and not just for gorgeous Polish model Kornelia Strzelecka lazing about and dancing in a envy-inducing pastoral setting…

Colors Outside by Uffe is released on Pets Recordings on 7th May 2012.

When WANARB Met: Tom Flynn

Tom Flynn

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to see Tom Flynn at Dirtybird’s London BBQ and, despite the fact he was on an hour into a 15 hour rave playing in a large warehouse to a handful of (young looking) people, his music caught our ears. It’s a rare talent to draw the attention of sober people in the process of pacing themselves for the long haul. And taking into consideration the context of a party full of many amazing moments- the heat causing Claude Von Stroke to ditch his jeans and walk about in his pants, French Fries playing late ’90s UK Garage, Drums Of Death and Leroy Peppers (aka Christian Martin) handing out cups of water to thirsty ravers and impeccable sets from just about everyone- it has definitely made us want to see Mr Flynn again but playing a more prominent, danceable slot.

In the meantime however, his brand new EP on Hypercolour, People Everyday, is seeing us through until such a time. We caught up with him to chat record labels, his love of Pharrell Williams, the BBQ and just how much his Moog means to him…
